Philodendron Micans (Velvet-Leaf Philodendron)

Small heart-shaped trailing leaves with a velvety, almost iridescent surface that shifts from bronze-green to deep maroon depending on the angle and light. Backsides of leaves have a reddish tint. Leaves are typically 2–4 inches.

How to tell it apart from look-alikes

Sometimes labeled "Velvet Leaf Philodendron" — same plant. Distinct from Philodendron Verrucosum, which is much larger, climbing, and has hairy red petioles. Micans is a small-leafed trailing plant.
