Have a plant question I haven’t answered?
Send it to me directly. I read every question and reply within a few days. No bot, no chatbot — just me, Thomas, looking it up in my notes and the primary sources.
Before you send a question, the answer might already be on the site
These three places cover ~90% of houseplant problems:
- Symptom-by-species library — “why is my [plant] [symptom]” for 100+ pairings, cited against ASPCA, NC State Extension, UC IPM.
- Plant ID by photo — upload a leaf photo to confirm the species and pull up the right care guide. Free, no signup.
- The free 9-page Troubleshooting PDF — printable reference for yellow leaves, brown tips, wilting, pests, watering, and light.
How this works
- You send a question. You get an auto-confirmation immediately so you know it went through.
- I read it within a day or two. If the answer is straightforward, you get a reply by email.
- If the question is asked often or makes for a good guide, the answer may become a public article — with your name and identifying details removed.
- Your email is used only to send the answer. I won’t add you to any list without asking.
