What limits Spider Plant growth indoors
Light and day length. NC State Extension says spider plant prefers medium light, is intolerant of direct sunlight, and forms plantlets when it gets short days and long, uninterrupted nights.
How to maximize size
Do not over-fertilize; NC State Extension says that decreases plantlet formation. Avoid watering with tap water, whose chlorine and fluorides can cause leaf tip burn.
