How Big Does a Pothos Get? (And How Fast)
Indoor Pothos reaches vines can reach 6–10 ft hanging, longer with trellis. Here\u2019s what determines whether yours does \u2014 plus the realistic pace.
Mature height
vines can reach 6–10 ft hanging, longer with trellis
Mature spread
spreads as long as you let it
Growth rate
fast
In the wild
climbs 40+ ft up tropical trees
How fast a Pothos actually grows
12–18 inches of new vine per month in bright indirect light.
What limits Pothos growth indoors
Light determines pace. In low light, pothos grows but slowly and with smaller leaves. The plant doesn’t stop, but new leaf sizes shrink dramatically.
How to maximize size
Train along a wall or moss pole — climbing pothos develops noticeably larger leaves. Cut back leggy vines to encourage bushier new growth. Fertilize during growing season.
