Flowering · Boston Fern
Does a Boston Fern Flower?
No. Boston ferns reproduce by spores, not flowers. They are non-flowering plants (Pteridophytes) and will never produce blooms.
What the bloom looks like
Boston ferns produce sori (clusters of spore cases) on the undersides of mature fronds. These appear as orderly rows of brown or yellow dots. They are not flowers — they are reproductive structures of a different evolutionary lineage entirely.
How likely is it indoors?
Zero — ferns cannot flower.
Botanical reference: NC State Extension — Nephrolepis exaltata
