Moving your Pilea outside for summer

Move outside when nights are above 60°F. Bright dappled shade is ideal. Pilea outdoors often look fuller and produce 3–5x more pups than indoor plants.

Sun acclimation

Filtered morning sun after gradual acclimation. Direct afternoon sun yellows the coin-shaped leaves.

When to bring your Pilea back inside

Bring inside before nights drop below 55°F. Inspect for spider mites.

Common mistakes

Direct sun (yellow leaves). Pot tipping over in wind (pilea are top-heavy). Skipping pest inspection.
