Can a Snake Plant Grow in Water?
No. snake plants cannot live in water long-term. Their rhizomes are succulent and rot quickly in standing water. Even leaf-cutting propagation in water rarely produces a healthy long-term plant.
How long it lasts in water
A leaf cutting can root in water but should be moved to soil within a few months. A whole plant in water rots within weeks.
What can go wrong
Rhizome rot within weeks. The succulent leaves don't adapt to constant water exposure.
